My Paparazzi Story ~

Want to know a little about me? My name is Andrea Hutcheson. I am a Producer with Paparazzi Accessories. I was a college student and I was working 2 Part-time jobs as a Librarian Assistant and a Sub Teacher. Money was usually tight and I was always looking for ways to make extra money to help pay the bills. I’ve joined other Direct Sales, but it seemed like I was always spending more money than bringing any in. My friend got invited to a Paparazzi party, and she invited me but I didn’t want to go because we didn’t have extra money to spend on “expensive jewelry”.

When we got there, the house was full of women buying cute jewelry. Everything was ONLY $5. I started asking questions about the Opportunity. Learned that consultants made 45% commission, and I knew that I could totally do this! Who doesn’t like Jewelry? Specially $5 cute jewelry!  It was a huge opportunityfor me to introduce it to everyone!

I called the consultant and asked her if there was any way I could earned part of my kit. I did basket parties and earned 10% of sales towards my kit. I also sold old stuff that I had at home to get some cash so I can purchase my kit. I had to do it no matter what! I had a Party at a Museum for free since where we used to live it was a small apartment. I ended up joining with a 100 piece kit (wish I could have joined with the 200 kit) Sold $400+ that day and had 20 ppl come to my party! That following month I invested $1000 and the next month I became Director (had 4 friends joined my Team). I sold everywhere I went, and I also sold it on Facebook since I was busy with school and jobs.

Here I am 2 years later still selling Paparazzi Jewelry. Doing Home Parties, Basket Parties and Events. Not only that, I do 5-7 Parties on Facebook per week. My biggest Party has been of 201 pcs sold! Also, My team has grown very large. I am blessed to be part of one of the largest, (most awesome) teams in the company. I’ve quit my jobs a year ago. Making more than what I used to make with 2 jobs.  I have received super cute gifts from the company, I’ve Won a FREE cruise to Dominican Republic, and I am receiving the best Support from my leaders and Paparazzi founders. I love the flexibility I have with being my own boss. I work when I want and how I want. With the Ministry my husband and I have I have time to visit my Bus kids, and I get to help people at Church when they need me. Not only that, I have time to spend with my Family & take care of my home! I have AMAZING friendships with people ALL over the country!  God has been really good to us and has blessed us so much through Paparazzi Accessories!

How this decision changed our life… This decision has been one that was done with A LOT of thought and knowing the risk that accompanies it! Yes, I was scared, but after 2.5 years I am proud to tell you that I couldn't be more blessed and Excited! A few years ago, I was going to College, working a job where they paid me $7 per hour. It wasn't a bad job, but it was not enough money, that’s for sure. My husband had a decent job with benefits. By decent, it mostly paid for our bills and expenses. I can’t complain because God plays a BIG role in our life. He will always provide for many things, and we trust Him.

At that point I was looking for something that I could do on the side that would bring extra income. I joined many DS companies, but it seemed like I only spent money instead of making money. I am the one who does the finances, and pays the bills. If you are like me, you know that this is very very stressful. All my hubby has to do is ask me if we have money in the bank, and I say yes or no lol… Well, not really, but I try to not stress him since he works hard. In July of 2012, my friend invited me to go with her to a “Paparazzi Accessories” Party. I wasn't really sure what Paparazzi was, I only knew that I didn't have the money to go to “those” parties, but I went. WOW… It was Jewelry and accessories that were only $5.00 and little diva’s items that were only $1.00. They were very cute but affordable! I didn't feel bad because I could afford 2-3 little divas earrings!

While I was waiting for my friend I was looking at everyone going crazy over this jewelry! I was thinking, man! I could totally do this! It’s only $5, is cute and really easy to sell! I started asking questions, she told me that the jewelry is nickel and lead free, that it is a very new company that just launched at the end of 2011. Consultants make 45% commission and leadership bonuses (10-5%). I was very impressed! Then I asked… How much is it to join? It was $300 for a 100 pcs kit (at that time). I told her that I didn't have the money but that I would do anything to earn my kit! I did basket parties, and instead of earning hostess rewards I would get those towards my kit. I tried to sell some old stuff I had to save for my kit. Later, I contacted her, and I invested the money. I also had a launch party where I sold $400+ and had 20 people attend. I did my launch party at a museum, because we used to leave in an apartment. It didn’t cost me anything to do my party there. So, like I said, I joined Paparazzi Accessories, hoping it was my lucky break it life. Surely, I could sell cute $5 Jewelry!!! I was very nervous and a little insecure, but I knew that this Paparazzi business could be a definite bonus to our family.

In September 2012, I decided I was going to put my whole self into this business to make it work! I just received $1000 and I decided to put all of it to order more jewelry! My goal was to invest until I had 900 pieces. I always told myself, the more you have, the more you are going to sell!

It was rough because we didn’t see any money coming in for us to use, since I re-invest every penny I made. My husband was very upset. He said that this was another of my hobbies and that I need to take another job. So I did. I was working 2 jobs and doing Paparazzi. I was selling the jewelry through Facebook (Facebook Parties) and taking it everywhere I went to show it. I started to network and meet lots of people and making longtime friends and customers. Even though I am from another country, Peru, and I am still learning English, I wasn't ashamed to share my business with others.

In July of 2013 I decided to do a Fair event. Events that year weren't outstanding, but I kept trying. Looking to find the perfect event that will bring lots of income… And so I did. I set up that year and sold over $1000 and booked 21 Home parties on the spot! It was Amazing! I was so excited!!!!
In July of 2014 we decided to move to Missouri, because of my husband’s job. I was able to tell my husband that I was going to quit my jobs and do Paparazzi Full Time. I wanted to help my Team Members make money just like I was. God gave me the opportunity to help others through Paparazzi. I love teaching them what I know.

In December of 2014 I won a FREE Cruise! I was so excited! I have accomplished many things through this company thanks to God and my hard work and willingness to keep going. I can’t believe it! The Future with Paparazzi is bright! I am making more than what I used to make with two jobs in one month! I have 900+ pcs and a room at my house exclusively for my jewelry! (People can come anytime they want to shop!) We know that there is so much possibility with Paparazzi Accessories. I have the potential to continue to do VERY WELL!

Between my leadership Commission and my sales (yes, I love doing parties and selling Paparazzi. My goals every month is to sell 1000 pieces), I make more than I ever thought possible! It’s hard to believe how much I make from $5 Jewelry. Women LOVE it!

Paparazzi Accessories has given us the freedom to do things we would never do. We are constantly working so hard and will continue to make GREAT things happen!

Some people seem to think (and say) "oh that 'cheap' jewelry turns my skin green".  That couldn't be further from the truth.  The fact is that your skin turning green (or any other color) is based on your own body's ph, not jewelry.  Medications can change your body's ph, lotions, etc. can make a difference as well.  Expensive jewelry can cause the very same reaction too.  And by-the-way...expensive jewelry does NOT mean its "real gold or silver"...it can simply mean its overpriced costume jewelry.

Paparazzi is BETTER than hypoallergenic! READ THIS!!!

Hypoallergenic vs. Nickel Free

The most common allergic reaction for jewelry wearers is an allergy to nickel. Those with nickel allergies usually suffer from red, irritated skin like a rash, itching and discomfort. People with this type of reaction usually try to wear jewelry that is hypoallergenic. However, did you know that something labeled "hypoallergenic" is not necessarily "nickel free"? Some wear sterling silver or gold, BUT...did you know that nickel is a common component of metals, INCLUDING lower quality gold, some stainless steel and some sterling silver?! It's true!
All Paparazzi Accessories items are "NICKEL FREE". We don't include the label "hypoallergenic" because that label does not always mean that it is nickel free. So when you go to your favorite department store or other jewelry company, and purchase the overpriced item just because it says "hypoallergenic", I'm sorry to tell you, but you're wasting your money. Paparazzi Accessories is nickel free and all only $5.00 for the same look others offer with high margins.
You cannot recognize nickel free jewelry. It all looks the same, so you have to read any label available or get the information from the salesperson...if they know. The FDA doesn't have a definition for hypoallergenic, so again, even with that label, you could still have an allergic reaction, leading you to believe you can never wear any costume jewelry without horrible, painful consequences.
I cannot tell you that if you wear Paparazzi Accessories that you'll never have any reaction, but what I can tell you are the testimonies from my customers and other Paparazzi Accessories Consultants. Can I see a catalog or order online as a customer?

Although we do not have catalogs, we have just launch our Replicated Site Shopping Cart! All customer have the option to purchase online through her consultant’s free site or a hostess’s online party now! All orders are subject to $5.95 shipping and local state tax. Each consultant orders their own inventory and Paparazzi is always changing their products to keep up with the fashion and trend, so there are no catalogs available. There is always NEW inventory! Our customers buy what we have in stock in home parties and cash and carry events.

What is the jewelry made from?

Paparazzi uses a blend of metals to make all our jewelry. The products are primarily made of iron, but do include other trace minerals. Those trace minerals are made up of a metallic alloy or either zinc, steel, aluminum, or copper.

Is there any nickel or lead in the jewelry?

No. All of our pieces are completely nickel and lead free. However, they are not classified as being hypo-allergenic.

Do I Have to Purchase My Display or Marketing Items from Paparazzi?

Absolutely not! As an Independent Consultant, you are allowed to use the Independent Consultant logo as you wish. You can make your own business cards, banners, posters, flyers, etc.  You can also make your own displays or purchase them from wherever you want. It's completely up to you. -- You cannot, however, alter the logo in any way.

As a Consultant, can I charge more than $1 or $5 plus tax for the products?

No. When you purchase jewelry from Paparazzi, you will be charged sales tax on the retail price of $1 or $5, even though you are purchasing it for a wholesale price. Paparazzi takes care of reporting/filing all the sales tax so you don’t have to. We recoup that extra charge if you want to add tax on each item. You are responsible for filing income taxes for the income you make on the jewelry. Consultants either sell their items for $1 or $5 flat or for $1 or $5 plus tax. It’s up to you which option you’d like to sell your items for. According to Paparazzi Policies and Procedures, we cannot advertise our items using the Paparazzi logo for more than $5 unless it says plus tax (same thing for the $1 items). We are also not allowed to sell our items for less than $1 or $5.

What About Sales Tax?

You will be charged sales tax on the retail value of each piece you order. Paparazzi is required to do this. This is intended to ensure that each state tax agency is made whole on any potential sales from the transactions of that wholesale product. The sales tax is charged at the local level of the place where the order is shipped. Paparazzi collects these taxes at the time of wholesale inventory purchase and remits it to the state on behalf of the Retail Sale that the Consultant may now have.

This also allows the Paparazzi Consultant the option of charging their local taxes on their Customer transactions and recuperate that cost, or absorbing it into their business structure; while at the same time not bringing any uncovered sales tax liability on Paparazzi or the Consultant.

What is the Guarantee?

As far as when you are selling to your customers through the website, their request for return must be made within 10 business days of receipt to be eligible for a full refund. To initiate a return, the customer must contact Paparazzi Support at (855) 697-2727 to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Upon approval, a shipping label will be provided to the customer.

When you receive your inventory shipment from Paparazzi, you have three (3) days to look it over and notify them if anything is broken and not repairable.

Most items are repairable, simply by squeezing shut a jump ring (these are the small, circular rings used in most jewelry making processes). 

Does Paparazzi Withhold Taxes?

No. You are solely responsible for reporting the income you make from your Paparazzi business. You will receive a 1099 or similar form from Paparazzi at the end of the year to assist you with your tax filing.

* * * Make sure to keep track of ALL your expenses: mileage, food, postage, office supplies, etc. Even the cost of the inventory you purchase! These are important costs of doing business and as a consultant, you will own your own business. Be sure to take advantage of all the tax deductions you are legally allowed! * * *

Do I Need A Vendors License?

These laws vary by municipality. Your local municipality may or may not require it, so it is a good idea to check with your local government.

However, when you are signing up for and event, you will sign up under your name and Paparazzi Accessories as the company.  As a consultant, you are permitted to use Paparazzi's Tax ID number to register for any events. To get the Tax ID number for your state, ask your sponsor or call Paparazzi's corporate office to get the number specific to your state.

As a Consultant, how much money can I make?

Consultants order all jewelry and accessories for $2.75/per adult item, which you sell for $5.00 each. The Starlet Shimmer items are in sets of 10 for $5.00, which you sell for $1.00 each. You earn a 45% PROFIT off each piece of jewelry and hair accessory you sell. You can also earn commissions from your team members and their down line; 5% commission is earned from each consultant until you have 3 active, then you will start earning 10% commission for every jewelry order they place with Paparazzi. If they sign up consultants too, you earn 5% of their orders as well. As you advance in rank you are eligible for even more commissions. Read the “Commission Plan” for more details.

Here is an idea of what you can make in COMMISSIONS ALONE each month, not including the 45% profit:

Director: $100 – $300

Premier Director: $300 – $1,000

Executive Director- estimated at $1000-2000

Producer: $1,000 – $3,000

Premier Producer – estimated $2-3000

Executive Producer: $3,500 – $7,000

Fashionista: $5,000 – $13,000

A-Lister: $13,000 – $19,000

Maven A-Lister: $19,000 – $30,000

Jet-Setter: $25,000 – $40,000

Maintaining Active Consultant Status:

Order at least 200 PV (100 pieces) of inventory within the previous 12 consecutive calendar months.

You do NOT have to order every month. However, to be eligible for commissions from your down line, you must purchase at least 50 PV (25 pieces or 5 packs) per month, but it’s not required. (5 pieces)  = $68.75 (25 pieces) If, for some reason, you couldn’t order a particular month you won’t lose your team members, unless it’s been over a year.

How much does it cost to become a Paparazzi Accessories Consultant?

Paparazzi has completely done an overhaul on their Starter Kits now offering 3 new options! And in each of these Kits you will receive marketing materials, the hottest new accessories, and displays that will make you $5 bling look like a million bucks!!!

Can I Choose the Items I get in my Starter Kit?

When Will I Receive My Shipment from Paparazzi?

This all depends on where you are located in the US. Packages are sent via UPS or USPS.  On the East side of Ohio, it seems to take 5 business days to receive shipments. The closer you are to the headquarters in Utah, the less the transit time will be and vice versa.

How much is shipping?

For consultants and customers, it is $5.95 for less than $100 and free over $100.  So consultants get free shipping when they buy 37 pieces (I recommend buying 40 to get the extra free piece from corp). and customers get it when they buy 20 pieces from the website.

How long does it take to ship?

Allow 3 FULL BUSINESS days for your order to be packaged.  Then it heads to shipping.   It will ship either UPS or USPS depending on many factors.   The headquarters is in Southern Utah.  So once it is shipped, you can figure out how long it should take to get from Utah to where you live.  Order early and don't wait for the last minute.

What are hostess benefits?

When you order from corporate, you get 1 free piece for every 10 pieces you purchase.   When a hostess has an online party, they will get 10% of free jewelry.  You can give more hostess benefits if you would like.  Many consultants do. 

What are starlet shimmer items?  

Starlet Shimmer items are intended for the younger crowd (children) though some older people will wear the rings as toe rings and some of the earrings.  You do not get hostess benefits on starlet shimmer items.  They are no available for purchase on the customer website.  There is no PV on SS items.  The cost is $5 for a package of 10  - thus $.50 each.  The suggested retail price is $1.  Except for the SS clips.  They are the normal $2.75 and retail for $5.

What is PV and OV?

PV is short for Personal Volume.  Each piece of jewelry is 2PV.  OV is Organizational Volume and it is everyone who orders below you volume (does not include your own).

What do I need do to be active?

To be active for a month, you need to order 50PV.   50PV is 25 pieces.  Starlet shimmer doesn't count.  To keep your account active, you need to order 100 pieces (200PV) in the last 12 months.

Should I charge Tax?

If you do not charge tax it cuts into your profit. Anywhere you shop you are required to pay the tax. Customers should understand this when shopping with you as well.Can I charge less than $5?You cannot charge anything less than $5 per regular item (Starlet Shimmer $1). You can charge more than $5 if you choose, but would be responsible for any sales tax for any amount above $5 and your exact tax.

What is Paparazzi Accessories?
Paparazzi is a Direct Sales and Party Plan Company, which specializes in affordable, fashionable accessories. We sell earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, hair clips and head bands…..all for $5.00 each! We also have a Starlet Shimmer line for the Little Diva’s for $1.00 each!

Two sisters opened Paparazzi in December 2010 in Utah. Their goal and mission is to bring self-confidence, empowerment and independence to women and families all over the world. They seek to fulfill this mission through the following avenues: First, they seek to offer women an affordable option to be fashionable and feel great. Second, they offer a real home-based business opportunity – independent of “recruiting” friends and neighbors. Independent Consultants of Paparazzi are able to carry inventory, host home parties, basket parties, invite associates, have fun, and sell their inventory directly to the customer. Consultants are able to sell as much and as often as they would like. Third, they offer future independence through the Paparazzi Compensation Plan by Consultants training others to be successful. This gives each Consultant the ability to build a long-term residual income, giving them a potential for real independence.

Can I see a catalog or order online as a customer?
Although we do not have catalogs, we have just launch our Replicated Site Shopping Cart! All customer have the option to purchase online through her consultant’s free site or a hostess’s online party now! All orders are subject to $5.95 shipping and local state tax. Each consultant orders their own inventory and Paparazzi is always changing their products to keep up with the fashion and trend, so there are no catalogs available. There is always NEW inventory! Our customers buy what we have in stock in home parties and cash and carry events.

What is the jewelry made from?
Paparazzi uses a blend of metals to make all our jewelry. The products are primarily made of iron, but do include other trace minerals. Those trace minerals are made up of a metallic alloy or either zinc, steel, aluminum, or copper.

Is there any nickel or lead in the jewelry?
No. All of our pieces are completely nickel and lead free. However, they are not classified as being hypo-allergenic.

As a Consultant, can I charge more than $1 or $5 plus tax for the products?
No. When you purchase jewelry from Paparazzi, you will be charged sales tax on the retail price of $1 or $5, even though you are purchasing it for a wholesale price. Paparazzi takes care of reporting/filing all the sales tax so you don’t have to. We recoup that extra charge if you want to add tax on each item. You are responsible for filing income taxes for the income you make on the jewelry. Consultants either sell their items for $1 or $5 flat or for $1 or $5 plus tax. It’s up to you which option you’d like to sell your items for. According to Paparazzi Policies and Procedures, we cannot advertise our items using the Paparazzi logo for more than $5 unless it says plus tax (same thing for the $1 items). We are also not allowed to sell our items for less than $1 or $5.

As a Consultant, how much money can I make?
Consultants order all jewelry and accessories for $2.75/per adult item, which you sell for $5.00 each. The Starlet Shimmer items are in sets of 10 for $5.00, which you sell for $1.00 each. You earn a 45% PROFIT off each piece of jewelry and hair accessory you sell. You can also earn commissions from your team members and their down line; 5% commission is earned from each consultant until you have 3 active, then you will start earning 10% commission for every jewelry order they place with Paparazzi. If they sign up consultants too, you earn 5% of their orders as well. As you advance in rank you are eligible for even more commissions. Read the “Commission Plan” for more details.

Here is an idea of what you can make in COMMISSIONS ALONE each month, not including the 45% profit:

Director: $100 – $300
Premier Director: $300 – $1,000
Executive Director- estimated at $1000-2000
Producer: $1,000 – $3,000
Premier Producer – estimated $2-3000
Executive Producer: $3,500 – $7,000
Fashionista: $5,000 – $13,000
A-Lister: $13,000 – $19,000
Maven A-Lister: $19,000 – $30,000
Jet-Setter: $25,000 – $40,000

Maintaining Active Consultant Status:
Order at least 200 PV (100 pieces) of inventory within the previous 12 consecutive calendar months.
You do NOT have to order every month. However, to be eligible for commissions from your down line, you must purchase at least 50 PV (25 pieces or 5 packs) per month, but it’s not required. (5 pieces)  = $68.75 (25 pieces) If, for some reason, you couldn't order a particular month you won’t lose your team members, unless it’s been over a year.
